The Lovin’ Spoonful’s Music

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Ahh … there it is! (double click — headphones fill with Summer in the City)
Last night the local PBS station ran a Lovin’ Spoonful retrospective with John Sebestian titled A Lovin’ Look Back. It was fun listening to John tell stories about the 60s and hear the music again.
Funny part … I have The [...]

Shelby GT500 Super Snakes

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Ford had raised the bar again in the high-tech horsepower war. GM and Chrysler Corp have yet to release their competing Camaro and Challenger models, and Ford is planting the challenge flag squarely on the race track. This is the type of HP wars witnessed in the late 60s early 70s. Oh boy!

Shelby GT500 Gets Red Stripe Treatment

Monday, April 16th, 2007

As much as I love the Shelby GT500, I’m not that enthused about this new package Ford is introducing. I love the white/blue stripe and the red/black stripe, but the black/white/red stripe doesn’t do it for me. I’m not sure why, but maybe it’s because it seems to try to hard for cool.
Ford readies Shelby [...]

Deju Vu—The Ford Shelby GT500KR

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

As the great readers of Business Unusual know, I am lusting after the Shelby GT500. Now a new Mustang is introduced that moves the horsepower up another notch, 540bph. Oh My!
I may have to review and rethink my position on this whole GT500 issue. The ground effects on the new KR are a lot different, [...]

Freedom from the office — the Bedouin way

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Mike Elgan hitchhikes on an article written by Dan Fost about the Bedouin lifestyle. He shares much of how he currently works and how he “appears in the office” at all times. If you are struggling with the mobile office and how to gain that extra edge, this article is for you.
The best part is [...]

Pi is the Word

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Tomorrow is Pi day, and apparently it reaches high mast at 1:56 PM. I have always enjoyed learning about pi, but have not crossed over into the fanatic camp … yet. The Redhead and I enjoyed The Joy of Pi, using it as a travel book a few years ago. If you haven’t read it, [...]

More Mustang Goodness!

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

If you didn’t get enough Ford Mustangs yesterday, here’s one more for good measure.

Steve McQueen & Mustang History

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

This is just good clean fun! Enjoy!

And if you liked that, you’ll love this clip from 1968 with Steve McQueen and the famous Bullitt chase sequence. One warning, don’t count the number of times they pass the green Volkswagen. It’ll just spoil the fun.

Which Sports Car Are You?

Friday, March 9th, 2007

I’m a Chevrolet Corvette!

You’re a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You’re all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Take the Which Sports Car Are [...]

Seth’s Blog: Where do you park?

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Today I was struck by the irony of it all. Reading Seth’s blog, he tells a story about a bank manager hogging the close parking spaces in front of the bank. I thought I would leave a quick comment on the blog about a similar story I witnessed a few years ago. There’s one big [...]
