Survey: Rural broadband users closing gap

This set of numbers shows that broadband usage is growing significantly, not only in the cities, but in rural America also. These numbers fly in the face of those that are working to have the government step in to provide the services, saying that people can’t get the service. The percentage of rural users is not that much smaller than urban.
Almost 95% of Americans have access to the service, but 39% choose to avail themselves of it. Hmmm…
Survey: Rural broadband users closing gap
Last fall, 24 percent of rural Americans had broadband Internet access at home, more than double the 9 percent rate reported in 2003, according to a survey released Sunday by the Pew Internet and American Life Project.
By comparison, 39 percent of urban and suburban dwellers had broadband last fall, up from 22 percent in 2003.
