A Word to the Wise on WiMax

Wired had a good article on 802.16 or WiMax that lays it out fairly well. Ms. Glasner give the good news and the bad news in this article and you get to decide which is which. Those promoting WiMax see the bad news as no units available, and those that are ambivilent will point to that as the good news and so it goes.
Wired News: A Word to the Wise on WiMax
Fans of mobile WiMax — which is designed to provide broadband access over a radius of up to several miles — claim the technology will cover exponentially larger areas than today’s Wi-Fi networks and cost less to use than 3G mobile-phone services. Mobile WiMax’s main drawback is a big one: It’s not available.
