When East Hampton real estate broker Diane Saatchi is asked what she owes her success to, she could cite her perseverance or her sales ability.
But that’s only part of the story, Saatchi says.
“It’s Mr. Greenspan,” said Saatchi, now a senior vice president with the Corcoran Group.
Saatchi isn’t kidding. She started in real estate just after Alan Greenspan became chairman of the all-important Federal Reserve 18 years ago - and she’s not alone in crediting Greenspan for economic gains. With the residential real estate market still near its highs and interest rates not far from their lows, many executives, economists and other experts are giving Greenspan high marks and big praise as his tenure comes to a close tomorrow.
