Tuesday, May 31st, 2005It took 4 hours of research, but I now have the answer to the RSS problem with the audio file. In the native install, MovableType will not support RSS 2.0 audio or video. Someone had written a plug-in to solve this, but in reading the site, there are a lot of “gotchas” to watch out [...]
TestPodcast2 Update
Monday, May 30th, 2005The MP3 was uploaded and was referenced in the HTML code properly, but I am unable to get ipodder to recognize the file and download it. I will have to do some research on RSS feeds to see what is wrong.
They are never as easy as we would hope.
TestPodcast2 is Here
Monday, May 30th, 2005The newest test podcast is now ready and available for your listening pleasure. As before, please leave comments on the sound quality and any issues you have with getting the MP3 file. If all goes as planned, this will be the final test cast, if not, we will have to determine the plan of action [...]
Next Test Podcast Coming this Weekend
Sunday, May 29th, 2005Because of the overwhelming demand for the next podcast, I will be posting another TESTCAST this weekend. I believe I have the RSS issue figured out, so this will allow for a test to see if ipodder software will pick it up once uploaded properly.
It will be another short “cast” for the purpose of ironing [...]
Guest Check PDA
Friday, May 27th, 2005I could not pass up the chance to link to this. I like it, thought the search feature is a little slow…
43 Folders: Guest Check PDA
This is a clever variation on the Hipster PDA that I picked up over on the HPDA wiki page. Use a cheapie, pocket-sized pad of restaurant “Guest Checks” to take [...]
Just Wondering
Friday, May 27th, 2005I am fairly new to the whole blogidelphia (city of blogs), but I have noticed an interesting phenomenon at work.
There seems to be an order to what goes on in blogs.
1) someone writes an article
2) a blog refers to it and makes a comment on the article
3) another blog sees that blog and refers to [...]
Sometimes 2nd Thoughts are Good
Tuesday, May 24th, 2005We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union…
The opening of the US Constitution has popped into my head as I thought about posting on a news item I just read. As it came to mind, I thought better of it, but will post a few thoughts about the [...]
The First Test Podcast
Monday, May 23rd, 2005Here it is! The very first test upload of a podcast. The conversion process was fairly painless and easy to do. I have recorded the wav file in Audacity and converted it to an MP3 file using the LAME converter.
The settings in Audacity are as follows: 44100Hz, Mono, 32bit floating
I converted it to a [...]
Love/Hate Microsoft
Sunday, May 22nd, 2005Thursday the 19th of May, the Microsoft Traveling bus was in town and I attended an afternoon Microsoft seminar on mobility. It revolved around access and security and as much as I love/hate Microsoft, they have some really cool stuff coming down the pipe to go with what is already there.
Last year they added the [...]
Big Business Expo
Saturday, May 21st, 2005The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce 18th annual Business Expo was held Wednesday, May 18, 2005. What a great day…
The 95 booths sold out and there was a waiting list if any failed to show… none did. It was full and crowded with business people in the ultimate networking environment.
My personal take is that [...]
