Great Technology Tools–Part 2
By Larry Hendrick | April 15, 2005
Listening to Jeff Kirvin’s podcast this morning, I discovered that someone had tweaked Graffiti 1 for Palm Garnet 5.4. This is the OS (operating system) that is on the Tungsten T5, the Trio 650, and the newly introduced Tungsten E2. Because of the architecture of the units, they would not support previous variations of this. Being an “old” hand at the Palm system, Graffiti 2 is difficult. My writing slowed down considerable and the recognition was terrible. I have been getting better, but the battle was uphill and into the wind.
I downloaded the files this morning and during lunch loaded them on my T5 and viola! Graffiti 1 is now working. This is great. My “T”s are Ts again and “i” don’t have to be dotted anymore. Of course, now my “L”s well be “i”s also (must unlearn a couple of things)
Igor Nesterov, the author of YAHM (yet another hack manager) is the hero in this effort.
Happy computing and “Have a great day…”
