A state of lawlessness...have you driven a car on the freeway lately or watched cars when the light turns yellow?
Some years ago, because of Romans chapter 13, I was convicted that obedience to man's law was Christ-like. At that time I began to drive the actual speed limit, not the 5 or 10 mph over that you can "get away with" in most places. Also to stop when safely possible when a light turns yellow.
Here's the observation...20 years ago this decision place me in the majority of drivers. Most maintained the speed limit and drove "defensively." Today, this is akin to taking your life into your own hands. With the total population of Harris and Galveston counties being several million, I am convinced that me and maybe 5 others have a desire to be Christ-like in this simple thing.
There are "clubs" formed to run red lights. Now these are the extreme, but they exist and others are moving in that direction. Stop signs...please...these are usually ignored. To actually stop at a stop light or sign, never! It seems that most people consider 15mph to be close enough. We used to get ticketed for this, as a rolling stop.
And "right turn on red", don't even get me started.
With all this, where are the police? The government body that is dedicated to enforcing these very laws is nowhere to be found, in most cases. They are off working "important" cases that involve anything but traffic fines.
Well, this is enough for part II, but more may come later. We still have Socialism, Liberalism, and Such to cover. That should be fun...|||111058679503393173|||Anarchy, Democracy, etc. (Part II)
