I do want to dispel the myth that the T5 is priced too high. When I bought mine I had been looking for a while and with the T5s introduction, the price on the T3 was dropped to $349 and this was heralded as the best buy on the planet for a Palm user. Well, at that same time Buy.com priced the T5 at the same $349 price. I also had a coupon for an additional $10 off. This made my T5 net at $339.00, which was cheaper than the T3. I think the T5 value is terrific. Just look around a little.
My favorite part so far on the T5 is the size of the memory. On my Vx with 8MB of memory, I was always deciding on what I could carry and what had to be removed. Well, with over 200MB of space now, I am in absolute love...programs, pictures, 3 CDs worth of music and still room to go.
Games were always the first to get erased in order to either try something new, or make room for more work information. I realize I'm an amateur in this, but I just looked and I have 9 different games on my Palm ready to go.
Books were an issue also, with an average of 185-250kb of space designated for them. This usually meant that only certain books could even be considered (small size) or ones that came in parts. This allowed chapters at a time to be loaded and them removed and the next on installed on a frequent basis. Now, 5 full novels...WOW! And guess what? I could still add more. As a matter of fact, I think I will visit memoware.com today and see what is new. I do hate to have all this room available and not try to use it.
Are there any negatives, yes, but minor when I compare them to the pluses. These might be touched on in a later message. What a great Palm, the Tungsten T5 is.
