My take is from the Christian side and my thoughts are, because of this, both conservative and liberal, depending on the issue. I tend to be conservative in concepts of government and biblical interpretation and liberal when it comes to scripture and its focus on life. Using Christ as an example, He was at times harsh, then polite, ruthless, then receptive, full of rage, then full of peace. In scripture, every lesson and every doctrine has a balancing doctrine that looks at the other side. He threw out the money changers from the temple and then paid taxes to Caesar. It was not the money, it was the circumstances. In things of God, not waivering, in things of man, compliant.

This is where many non-christians make their mistake in trying to put Christians in a box and use scripture as a weapon against Christians. Because they do not understand that a single scripture does not define a Christian, they try to make the issue one-dimensional.
"They" like to quote, "judge not, lest you be judged" anytime a Christian makes a comment about a lifestyle or deed that is immoral or illegal. They, of course, in saying this are judging, even as they condemn it. What a great country....|||108603363985957814|||Where I come from...
