People around you can feel the silent power coming from you. They pay attention and hang on every word. It’s a great feeling.

This is episode six in our series Live the Dream and I talk about confidence. What is it, why is it important and how can we effect it in our lives. I’m confident you will enjoy this episode and come away with more confidence in your own life.

On the podcast, I quickly mentioned a new project I’m starting in a few days. As you’re aware, this is my Year of the Wiki that I’m titling, Wiki2008. I will be announcing an exciting, new project for group collaboration that will change your life and make you very rich. OK, maybe it won’t change your life or make you rich, but it will be cool. Give me a few more days to iron out the details and I’ll write about it here on Motivation on the Run.

All good questions that I talk about on this episode of Motivation on the Run.

All that and an audio comment from Anna Farmery of The Engaging Brand. She doesn’t know it (until now), but her comment introduces this week’s topic better than what I wrote, so I scrapped mine and let Anna do it.

For those of you thinking it … yes, I thought about using Aretha Franklin’s RESPECT as part of the bumper music, but did not. The last thing I want to do is get in trouble with the <s>Gestapo</s> RIAA. It’s okay if you hear the song in your head while the intro is playing, though.

This week’s topic is Reputation. How important is your reputation? Can you manage it, or just be aware of it? Do you realize you don’t have full control over your reputation, because it’s what others think of you? Building a positive reputation can be done, but takes thought and discipline.

How do you repair a damaged reputation? That will be a topic for another day, but my main advice for this week is, “be a person of your word.”

This is the fourth cast in our new series, Live the Dream, which is a year of introspection. Who are we, and how can we make ourselves better? Are you taking the journey with us? The motivation is to be the new and improved person we dream of.

This series is harder to put together, and it’s harder to look inside to see the truth about some of these problems. It’s a learning experience for me, and I hope one for you, also.

Are you looking to take your life to the next level? Are you willing to dedicate yourself? If so, this series is absolutely for you. In the past, I’ve talked about planning, setting and achieving goals, but what about the here and now? What about our lives today? Shouldn’t we enjoy the life we have and the people around us? Absolutely!

We can work hard to achieve our long-term goals and miss out on the more important goal of living our lives. Our course of personal development should consider work, family, play, and spiritual aspects of our life to currently “Live the Dream.”

This week I discuss the importance of Motion in our series on “Live the Dream.” If not obvious, it is a critical component of the process. We are either in Motion or Hung on High Center.

<itunes:summary>Are you looking to take your life to the next level?

This is your place on the web for the topics of motivation, leadership, goal setting, goal achieving, management, and sales. This is episode #82, with a slight diversion for this cast. This is a one cast break from the series, Leadership qualities I don’t hear talked about much.

This week is another TLC Toastmaster speech I delivered last week. The title is The Visionary Leader. I did not write this speech; it is what I call a canned speech. I have to make this one, plus one more to earn my Competent Leader designation from Toastmasters International.

I did pick a speech I was interested in and that would dovetail with what I talk about here. It was a little awkward working with someone else’s words, but I think it went well.

I you have any feedback, please leave a comment with your suggestions.

This is the second week of my series on leadership traits I don’t see discussed much. This week our topic is much tougher than last week when we looked at patience. In fact, some of you may get upset with me over this week’s cast, but that is not my intention. If growth is expected in our leadership ability, challenge is required, and this week, I will challenge you.

Integrity drives what you do when you don’t think anyone is watching

What is this tough topic? INTEGRITY! It’s a short word with a long meaning, and that’s the discussion for this week. It’s difficult when we’re asked to look inside ourselves and make a judgment about something like integrity. That’s why we addressed patience first, in preparation for what is to come. Let me know what you think in the comments or email me … larry@larryhendrick.com.
