The memory championships are over and a competitor from Germany is crowned champion. The hope of the UK to reclaim the title, Ben Pridmore, finished second. Now I need to see if video coverage is available.Maybe someone will upload the highlights to YouTube.

Dr Gunther Karsten of Germany has won the World Memory Championships (WMC) which concluded at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain Conference Centre yesterday. He won 6986 points.The second place at the event, held for only the second time outside the UK, was won by Ben Pridmore of England, with 6963 points, while the third position went to Simon Reinhard (6200) of Germany.
Karan Beri, 20, the only one from Bahrain at the event, received a special mention.
Earlier, more than 90 ‘mind wizards’ concluded three days of grueling competition at the event.
The winner pocketed prize money of $10,000 (BD3,780).
