Leadership, A Podcast Series

February 20th, 2007 · 5 Comments

Writing reminder notes is a great way to remember important information unless you lose the note and forget the contents, too.

A few months ago, I was brainstorming on different aspects of leadership, then put the notes somewhere safe. That always slows the process. My purpose, though, was to identify several leadership ideas I don’t see discussed much, then to discuss them.

I would like to start with this list and welcome any suggestions you want to add. Some of the topics are difficult, but that shouldn’t stop us from having the conversation.

My list is as follows:

  1. Clash of Wills
  2. Vision Planning
  3. Persuasion
  4. Personal Mission Statements
  5. Positive Attitude
  6. Integrity in the Workplace
  7. Compassion
  8. Principles
  9. Fairness
  10. Brainstorming

The list is not meant as exhaustive or exclusive, but to act as a starting point for future discussions. Some, like Vision Planning and Persuasion or Compassion and Fairness, fit together and the discussion can overlap. Others, like Integrity or Brainstorming, can stand alone in their discussion.

Originally I thought about writing articles for the Motivation on the Run website, but I have decided to include them on the podcast channel.

With that in mind, I will start a series based on this list and I invite your input for discussion or addition.

Great list Larry. Here’s a few other thoughts:

    Authenticity

    Loving Your Followers

    Lifelong Learning

    Listening Skills for Leaders

    Zero Based Thinking

That’s what I’ve got right now. More to come if I think of any. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Phil, those are great additions. I will add them to the list. They tie in nicely to the theme of “little talked about” qualities.

    Thanks!

You’re welcome Larry. I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about these things. You’ve got a unique perspective and great voice that I really enjoy listening to.

Great list of leadership skills. Each one on the list surely is important. You could try How to become a leader.
