Motivation on the Run

When someone you work with is struggling, whether is their personal or business life, what is your first inclination? Do you avoid eye contact and escape out the side door to avoid the long conversation about all the troubles they are having, or do you see the need and reach out to help. Do you walk up and ask the question “how ya doin’?” and really mean it?

How you answer that question tells me a lot about your qualifications as a leader. We’ve all been in that position and at different times reacted in different ways, but that’s okay. We call that the learning process and as we mature in ourselves and in our lives, we recognize the help we’ve been given, so are more responsive to those we can help.
