Don’t you just hate goal-driven people?

Oops. I realize I’ve just blurted out something that will inflame many readers, including, quite possibly, my employer. Or his wife.

The fact is, nature divides our species into those who are goal-oriented and those who are task-oriented. We cannot be both. We may do both, set goals, complete tasks, but that doesn’t change the way we are. I’m task-oriented.

Years of social research (mine) confirm that mankind has a few fundamental delineations: those who love baseball and those who hate it; those who watch game shows and those who watch soap operas; those who crave order and those don’t — the Type A-Type B thing.
