Hello Hello Hello … It’s time once again for a twenty minute visit. I give a quick report on the Houston Podcasting Association Meetup last Thursday evening. The SMART acronym is now SMARTER with a little more education involved.

Here is where you find Daniel’s blog. Daniel is the person responsible for ENTHUSIASM in SMARTER.

I give more information about the series I am writing on “Silent Languages” and their importance.

That’s a wrap, and I look forward to seeing you again next week.

Inspiration Music? There’s the overture to the rock opera “Tommy.” And theme to the TV show “MacGyver.” And one of my absolute favorites, the overture to the movie “Paint Your Wagon.” While the song “I was born under a wandering star…” isn’t as energetic as the others, the powerful singing of an all-male chorus make you want to shake off your old skin, bolt out the door, and try something new.

I think powerful songs could motivates people, especially the rocks. but sorry, I dont remember the name of any song I’ve listened to. I was too buy enjoying the songs to notice its name. Let me tell you once I find it. By the way, I am the beginning listener to this podcast. I tried to start with Motivation #1, but it turns out #1 to #10 are not reachable. Would you get it fixed. I appreciate it very much

A few motivational songs come to my mind: Unchained and Dreams by Van Halen, and the Theme from the Cat People by David Bowie (fast version).
    Cool cast - thanks!

I love music, but am stumped as to favorite motivational music, or a theme. Jump by Van Halen comes to mind, but I think there’s got to be better choices. The local hockey team plays some great ones every time a foul is called.

Here’s one…YMCA. And it has a motivational message to boot. :)

    YMCA? What?
    ?????

    Hello Larry,

I feel really motivated when I hear any of the following songs:
    - “Jump” (by Van Halen - pre-Sammy Haggar era)
    - “The Best” (by Tina Turner)
    - “Elevation” (by U2)

For the SMARTER acronym, what about E for Emotionally-charged. I know in my own experience you can have a great goal that’s specific, measurable, achieveable, realistic, time-sensitive, reward based, …but if you’re not emotionally attached to it (where you feel great about what it can give you) then it’s not going to happen. I think we often underestimate the power of emotion in our daily lives. Hope this helps. Great advice Larry, keep it up! You’ve turned a lurker into a contributor!

    Kyle,

Emotionally-charged is a great E for SMARTER. This is in the running for inclusion and thanks for becoming a contributor. It’s great to have participation!
