This bonus podcast is about something I have been thinking about for a few weeks, Google’s Page Rank. Time has not permitted me to include it the last few weeks, but this long weekend has.
I talk a little about the ranking and a few ideas I have for adding more content to the blog. It is in this area I am seeking input from you, the supporters of this site.

Was that a plug, Larry? Thanks…here is some help in return:
First some analysis: You are right that lh.com PR=0. I’d be disturbed, too. But lh.com/motivate and lh.com/weblog have PR=4!
Your sub-sites have higher PR than your home page which is highly unusual…but looking at how much more likely people are to link to your podcast or blog, it makes sense.
So, you have already achieved your goal. If some other listeners link, maybe you can hit PR=5, but it is quite a leap (it is a logrithmic scale some say). I think I hit PR=6 only because of a couple high profile articles and incoming links. My company’s website has been a 5 for as long as I knew about PR.
As to converting voice to text, you’ll have to ask someone else. A quick search found one for $80: http://www.tomdownload.com/business_finance/word_processing/wave_to_text.htm
I do question the overall value of such an effort though. Maybe now that you know you’ve got a PR=4, you may reconsider too.

This is interesting, because I looked at both /motivate and /weblog when I looked and they were all 0/10, so it has already worked. That is bizarre.
I’m still interested in the voice to text, but my search turned up several like the one you found. My purpose is largely to have it for my own research, but it may be more work than worth.

Here may be the voice-to-text answer, and the price is right.
Podcast Chaos Be Gone
(On the pagerank, I’ve read that it sometimes guesses on new pages of an existing website. It might have been assigning your sub-pages PR=0 soley based on the home page, until it could update its rankings. Just a guess.)

At first reading, this could be perfect for using podcasts with references. I can’t wait to look closer and try them out.
